The 3TR7CM is the same type of guard as the TR2CM, but with a longer adjustable rod. The guard was designed and manufactured for drill presses with longer spindles, with the rod on the guard extended by approximately 200mm compared with the TR2CM.
The standard drill guard has a 200mm wide x 130mm high polycarbonate shield which is height adjustable and swings open to the left. The screen ensures no contact with the rotating spindle and protects the operator from entanglement and ejection hazards. The 2NC-1NO IP67 micro switch (code Mic 001) is fitted directly into the mounting bracket. The interlock ensures that the safety screen must be in place before the machine can be operated.
The TR7KS-CM special version is supplied with two additional brackets which allow the shield to be adjusted and mounted closer or centred to the chuck and drill bit if necessary. In the technical illustration they are designated as KSP3 and KSP4.
There is also a version with a larger 280mm wide x 200mm high screen for particularly large geared head drill presses. Care must be taken when drilling into a geared head as it will contain oil and gear components.
TR7 guards are also available with double polycarbonate screens for large drill bits or, if the gap between the drill and the table is frequently set as wide as possible, we stock a TR7 guard with a double screen. 3TR7CMDS is the part number which identifies the double screen version. DC injection braking is optional, as is our dual-channel safety control panel as well as an additional e-stop or kick-stop. Our ‘safety panels’ contain safety relays and dual-power switching contactors. This system provides redundancy and fault tolerance, and it complies with current Standards regarding safety-related parts of control systems.
